The Beauty Wonder That Is Green Tea

2:55 PM Cintamuni 45 Comments

When drank as a regular tea, green tea definitely is ahead of the game among other kinds of tea, simply because it's proven to have, if not the highest, one of the highest antioxidant properties.  It also is high in flavonoids, meaning it has anticarcinogenic functions. Green tea can also aid in weight loss due to polyphenols and caffeine. Thus, it's good for the health, and good for the skin, too. No wonder you can now find it in different beauty products.

I have used Green Tea facial scrub and mud mask by Watsons, and a Green Tea facial emulsion by Ellianto, all of which gave me splendid results.

Green Tea mud pack by Watsons
Let me talk about this mud pack first. This mud pack is very inexpensive and it can even double as your
facial wash. The smell is so soothing eucalyptus, I guess and whenever I use I kind of feel very relaxing. I usually use it as an alternative facial wash, especially after a very tiring day. It cleans the face without drying it, just leaving the skin soft and supple.

Green Tea facial scrub by Watsons

The Green Tea facial scrub by Watsons on the other hand has a cooling effect. It is best to use it at the end of a very hot day when your face becomes so oily, you feel that all the dirt has sticked to every pore in your face already. It also has a floral and eucalytpus scent, however, I find the grains a bit rough, so make sure to scrub very, very lightly only so as not to over-scrub your face.

Green Tea & Chamomile face emulsion by Ellianto

Sad that I don't see Ellianto here in Manila anymore, but this emulsion is actually one of my favorite moisturizers. It has anti-aging effects due to green tea extracts in it, and it really gives my face a real nice glow. It's not heavy on the face, and can be used even on hot summer days.

So that's my list of green tea beauty products, and I hope to seeing more beauty products made of\, or has the wonder of green tea extracts.

Ang galing ng watsons noh? kung ano-ano na yung private label products nila. Ang ayaw ko lang is, parang rip-off yung packaging ng already existing products.

I'm using St Ive's Facial Scrub and I love it.

I remember my cousin who used to have many pimples and daily wash her face with warm water with green tea in it. And I can attest that it is effective.

I actually agree with the caffeine thing, that's why I don't drink green tea often since it's got more caffeine than a regular coffee weird, but that's for the local or more common green teas in the market. Challenge is to look for a brand that has no caffeine in it, that's what my aunt told me.

There are many green tea products for sale here in Singapore and I personally love green tea. I feel that they are great for the skin.
