Reviewing ONE Naturales Hand and Body Lotion

This cold December season makes me want to keep up with my skin regimen before going to bed, whole body moisturization using a lotion. I don't know if you also noticed your skin during holiday season to be more dull and dry, maybe it's because of the sweets we eat, i.e. chocolates, cake, fruit salad, kakanin, etc, those are most probably the biggest culprits. This ONE Naturales in Vanilla Almond Custard is my favorite for this time of the year.

You can buy this at Watsons department store, but I'm not really sure if you can find this exact one

I am just amazed at how ONE Naturales lotion or body butter moisturizes my skin, especially in this normally cold February.

I finished a tube and a half of lotion, plus a tub of ONE Naturales body butter in coconut named, You. How sweet. Now this time, I pulled out my from my stack, this

Ready To Face What 2012 Has In Store For Me

I'm so throwing all of the garbage I have accumulated the past year 2011. That includes throwing away all those beautiful O.N.E. Naturales packaging of the ones I've used up already i.e., lotion, body scrub, soap, body butter. All of the excess baggage, too, you all need to go. :) It's going to be a new me on 2012.

O.N.E. Naturales products still occupy one-third of my toiletries, so a few of them products I haven't blogged about yet will have the privelege to be on spotlight this year, here on my blog. Aside from that, I am so ready to try on some new beauty products this year, and will have  to highlight a few more Korean products.

This year, I promise myself to wear makeup everyday, to look more polished, more sophisticated. Hello to a more beautiful me.

How Safe is Your Beauty Kit? Here's a List of Harmful Chemicals to Watch Out For.

We want to be beautiful and we want to make sure we are safe from harmful chemicals that are present in almost all of the beauty products that are out there in the market everywhere. Now how safe is your beauty product?

In my recent addiction for organic beauty products, I learned that not all organic products are safe as they claim to be, and that we should be wise in buying. Some will put special oils, saying product is made of organic ingredients, but still has large amounts of harmful chemicals on it. See the list below I gathered from my research to check which products to avoid purchasing, or to use minimally. I have the complete list now, I hope, whereas before, I just remember paraben, and when there is paraben, I'll be reluctant to purchase a product.

The List

1. Parabens - tagged as the bad-ass of all harmful chemicals found on cosmetics/beauty products. This is an ingredient used as preservatives for moisturizers and lotions. Shampoos also contain parabens.

2. Petrochemicals - Suspected carcinogens are in food colors FD&C pigments which are pretty common I noticed, said to be made from coal tar.

3.  Phthalates - has Dibutylphthalate and diethylphthalate (DBP, DEP, also butyl ester) helps lotion absorbed into the skin faster.

4. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) - found in shampoos. This is a known carcinogen and causes allergic reactions and contact dermatitis, headaches, etc.

5. Glycols - There types of glycols that are not proven harmful. The only types we need to avoid are: ethylene glycol, carbitol, and diethylene glycol --  these are used as moisturizers.

6. Formaldehyde - Formaline, we know this isn't good. See also Diazolidinyl Urea or Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, which is a  formaldehyde releaser. We don't want to be fooled so be familiar with these as well: diazolidinyl urea (or 3-diol diazolidinyl urea) 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1 (or bronopol) DMDM hydantoin. These can either be found in nail polishes, shampoos, including baby shampoos, or liquid body soaps.

7. Oxybenzone - photo carcinogen. It comes from benzophenone, known to attack DNA when illuminated. Usually found in sunscreens. It can penetrate and photosensitize the skin. (What?)

8. Cosmetic Fragrances and synthetic fragrances used in perfumes.

Yes, we can control the amount of chemicals we consume, and yes, we can find real organic stuff  to be our new bestfriends, just be aware of the above, some contain very little amounts.

Well, there you go. I've yet to check my beauty kit at home whether they contain these. For one, I know my TBS (The Body Shop) body butter has paraben, oops! I know!

But I will not throw this away, no. Will just use it once in a while. It's a spa body butter, so whenever I do deep scrubbing, that's the only time I would need some deep moisturizing. Also, I know that a couple of my korean-branded beauty stuff contains a couple of hazards, too, that I need to save for future posts when I do their reviews.

Anyway, my O.N.E. Naturales buys are said to have controlled amount of SLS, and other harmful chemicals, so that's a good ONE! See http://www.watsonsbeautyfinds.com.ph/one_naturales_solid_shampoo.aspx

I've found the ONE! O.N.E. Naturales.

Yeah, I know I  saw this already many times at Watsons area in SM department store. But this is the only time I get to know O.N.E. Naturales. O.N.E. stands for Organic, Natural and Eco-friendly. Just because I'm so kikay and thrifty at the same time, but don't get me wrong, this brand is a luxury line of beauty and bath products, just so happen I caught them on sale! Everything for only 199php! Now how's that? If you love natural products etc, or simply kikay, you better check these products now!

These are the items I purchased yesterday at Megamall:

Use this solid bar after  shower.  It is advisable that you dry yourself first before applying. A solid bar that actually replaces that bottled body oil of yours! I smell lavender in this, so it's really good before sleeping as it calms your senses into a good night sleep. It is not at all sticky or "malagkit" as it dries up in about less than an hour, very quickly absorbed by the body, which is good, actually. And I feel a little menthol too which cools the body, and makes this bar best after exposing your skin to the sun.

The second product the I loved right after seeing and smelling, is this coconut body butter. The smell really got me here. Plus, I know that natural coconut milk is good for my skin. I can smell here pure  coconut milk. I tested using it for the whole body before going to work. It works like a real body butter which is also absorbed by the body in less than an hour, where the grease disappears. It made my skin glowing, other than the fact that I did some scrubbing in the bath, I know that this product has done me something. Although the good smell of coconut milk fades away rather quicker than the grease does, it's okay for me. Btw, this is retailed at 629php (original price that is, before I snagged it for only 199php!)

This one, I haven't tried yet. But I can't wait to go home from work to see if it passes my taste. Package-wise, it really got me with it's so sweet smell, you know, honey! Plus, I know this is a must-try for me since the promo lady who introduced me these products noted that, this honey bar soap is best for those with sensitive skin i.e. skin allergies or bites after taking shower? I'm not really sure but I'm dying to try this one.

Aren't they cute? That gorgeous package and the intoxicating smell really has something to be in the top line of all the best natural beauty product lines here in the Philippines. O.N.E. Naturales is on sale until end of the month, August 2011, at SM Megamall. I haven't checked it yet if they will be on sale with other branches, I do not know since it wasn't posted anywhere in their site: http://www.onenaturales.com/. But do check out their products.

Other products that I remember available are: solid lotions, solid shampoo, solid conditioner (cute!), specifically formulated with anti-dandruff, for colored hair, one to reduce hairfall, calming bar soaps, bar that reduces stretch marks, and even lip balms.

I also fell inlove with these and planning to buy on my next visit, probably on Wednesday:

I will definitely stack up on a couple of these!
